The Moroccan provider of sports betting, gaming, and lottery, MDJS (an acronym in French that stands for "Le Marocain des Jeux et des Sports"), has become the first lottery in Africa to achieve the highest standards of responsible gambling: the European Certification for Responsible Lotteries, receiving level 4. These are excellent news for the continent, especially coming just a month after the African Gambling Summit, where the future of the African gaming market was discussed in detail. It could be seen as a promising sign of what the future may hold. Younes El Mechrafi, the CEO of MDJS, expressed his belief that responsible gambling and its recognition are the key to sustainable development in the industry. He added that lotteries exist worldwide primarily to shield players from illegal gambling, which is undoubtedly detrimental and increasingly prevalent, even in Morocco. Mechrafi further emphasized that achieving this distinction would not have been possible without the support of MDJS's partner, IntraLot.
